Welcome, Dan! Sorry if this post needed some commentary.Basically, my thought was to take common errors and general assumptions and figure out when they were true.For instance, it's typically not true that 3x + 4y = 7xy. But when is it? That's what that first graph shows.

Ha! This is a great post. Makes me want to check some of the mistakes my students make and see if they work sometimes, too.
